Lens based media Charlie and Tess

23 September

This was the photo that I choose of my two dogs that copied onto a A1 sheet of paper.

I firstly used a HB Penicl to faintly outlined the features of my pets.

I used colouring pencils, charcoal to depict the detail of the individual hairs on my dogs.

In my opinion these two snap shots of the drawing work very well as they both represent my dog (Charlie's) characteristics especially his beard as my other dog (Tess) doesn't.

I used a view finder to create a picture within a picture these parts of the origanal drawing could be used in other pieces of work such as in fashion and textiles, graphics perhaps for an abstract piece or in fine art. Alongside this I realised that that I didn't need to use al of the drawing to depict my pets are dogs Instead when I experimented with the view finder I found that the nose eyes and ears instantly refer to a dog also creating the illusion of what the other parts look like making the person look at it and question the drawing to confuse them.

Drawing my two pets were easy the only challenging thing was where to place the view finder to create a picture within a picture as I found the detail from the dogs and my leggings difficult to create a separate picture altogether. Overall I though I was sucsesful in achieving.
