These are a series of drawing representing a particular shape or object which then would be adapted into a re-invented product.
Theses are some random designs for e.g.
A rabbit cage (shaped Ada apple) using e stock for a slide to the rabbits run.
I also used the inspiration of a jacket to create a light, I used the sleeves of the jacket as the support on the flor to hold up the light.
On one of the other designs I had to design a bus stop out of the numbers on my house.
Among this another design was based on a random line creating it into a seat for a person and a cat.
From the jacket inspiration in the light desgin on the previous image I interpret it into a MP3 player using the collars from the jacket to create the head phone, the outcome of the desgin looked very modern as it was slim likewise to modern MP3 players and IPods you see today as well as an unique twist.
From the MP3 Player design I used the same concept for the head phones to create a structure that would hold up a water bottle.
For this project I was allowed to use 4 pieces of cardboard and masking tape I also used a safety knife to shape the chair accurately. I wanted to create an old fashioned inspired chair using a heart shaped structure for the back of e chair.
I adapted the Design as the origanal design of the chair was to Unstable. To imporve the concept I decided to make the chair smaller so that it would have more support underneath as I created two triangle cylinder to add extra support when I sat down. In my opinion I can adapt this chair into designs for clothing such as a chair inspired dress.
The key element that I have learnt in this process is the design of the structure is a very important element of the manufacturing process as if one area of the design is made incorrectly then the whole product's function wouldnt work properly.
If I was to do the chair differently I would use more modern elements so that the appearance would look more aesthetically pleasing therefore would be more suited to other consumers if they wanted to buy this product.
